I first experienced painting when I was 4 years old. By then, I’d developed a clear interest in visual arts, and upon receiving a box of oil paints, I was enrolled into beginner painting classes. I remember relishing in the feeling of spreading paint across a stretched canvas, and appreciating the freedom it allowed me to create. Although it is much later that I began printmaking, both painting and printmaking have never failed to soothe and stir excitement in me at the same time.
As an artist, I value the honing of techniques and skills practice heavily. Experimentation plays a great role in my process. I rarely begin with a composition, most of my works are developed from experimental recordings and studies done spontaneously. After then I would start to form ideas regarding theme and subject matter. I love experimenting with different materials; texture is very important to me.
